Problems installing Ubuntu on Intel NUC - Unable to SSH

I'm a bit stuck and could use your help/suggestions. I got a new NUC7CJYH with Win10 installed on it, but want to run it as a headless Ubuntu server. I followed the instructions here: https://ubuntu.com/download/intel-nuc Which all worked alright.

I generated the SSH key on WSL2 on my windows laptop, saved it to my Ubuntu profile, and so far so good, ran the install, and also worked fine.

Then I get the screen on the NUC telling me what I should type to SSH into the machine, which is where the problem comes in. I am able to connect to the NUC, and it asks me for my password, so I am entering my Ubuntu SSO password, which it's not accepting, I even went as far as creating another Ubuntu SSO account and doing the same setup again, and the same thing. I also tried with the username/password that I used to generate the SSH key, and I keep on getting the following error :

ssh nuc_00101@192.168.0.251
The authenticity of host '192.168.0.251 (192.168.0.251)' can't be established.
ECDSA key fingerprint is SHA256:BsIlNy+QMHpeHNuX1yAcHGjCytWAxmdCfH5rtP8OXuw.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no/[fingerprint])? yes
Warning: Permanently added '192.168.0.251' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts.
nuc_00101@192.168.0.251's password:
Permission denied, please try again.
nuc_0010173@192.168.0.251's password:
Permission denied, please try again.

I have no idea where to go to from here, so any suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking of maybe then just rebooting it again and telling it to install ubuntu-desktop (even though I will run it headless) but ideally, I'd like to get this fixed rather than potentially introducing more problems

Thanks!

Hello Lily6388,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

You must know that the Operating system you are running has not been validated to work in your unit. If you want to take a look at the list of the validated operating systems, you should refer to the following link:

https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?prodSearch=True&searchTerm=NUC7CJYH#

However, if you want to stick to installing the operating system, I recommend contacting the Linux support team for further support.

Best regards,
