Question about how to enable watchdog timer on blkde3815tykh0e

I recently bought blkde3815tykh0e.

I thought the NUC have a feature of watchdog timer.

These document below shows it.

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/one-pagers-nuc-specs-guide.pdf http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/one-pagers-nuc-specs-guide.pdf

I've already installed latest visual bios(version 0046) to NUC.

But I couldn't find settings of watchdog timer on bios.

It's answered that Watchdog can be enable or disable under the perfomance tab.

Is there how to enable watchdog instead?

And I want to use watchdog timer on Windows 8 or 10.

But there aren't documents and drivers about watchdog timer for windows.

I only could find the document below.

http://www.intel.co.jp/content/www/jp/ja/embedded/solutions/iot-gateway/enabling-and-configuring-wat... http://www.intel.co.jp/content/www/jp/ja/embedded/solutions/iot-gateway/enabling-and-configuring-wat...

But It's for linux. Furthermore I don't know the document supports this NUC.

Please tell me how to use watchdog timer on this NUC.

Hi marboow,

I reviewed the technical product specification of your NUC and Watchdog feature unfortunately is not included in the BIOS of your device.

The baytrail SOC in this NUC absolutely does have a hardware watchdog and I have it working in Linux with the iTCO_wdt driver.

I am profoundly disappointed with the level of support that customers are getting from Intel here in this community.

Hi KDD

Thank you for your providing the information.

I'd try to enable watchdog timer by iTCO_wdt on Linux in order to confirm the feature is available.

But I need to enable watchdog timer on Windows 8 or 10.

Is there a watchdog timer driver for windows like iTCO_wdt?

Hi Mike C.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm unfortunate that watchdog timer isn't included in the BIOS.

But, I think the SOC of this NUC has watchdog timer.

If there's how to enable watchdog timer without bios, Please tell me the way for Windows 8 or 10.
