Resolution changes automatically with Intel 11th Gen Core NUC after shutdown

I have an Intel 11th Gen Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz NUC, with Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics and Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor – U2422H monitor.

I have been using the Wake-on-LAN (WoL) feature and I have disabled fast startup (as WoL will not work if fast startup is enabled). The problem is when I shutdown the NUC and turn on after an hour, the screen resolution is reset to recommended setting even though I had set a different resolution before shutting down. (If I enable fast startup the resolution does not change automatically.) Also, the issue did not occur if we switched on the NUC immediately after shutting it down.

I have already tried graphics driver rollback and upgrade, and checked with other monitors(Dell P2419H 24,LG E2251VR). But issue is not resolved. Is there any workaround to stop resolution getting changed automatically to the recommended setting?

Hello ForumResearcher,

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

To have a better understanding of your issue, please provide me with the following:

  • When did the issue start?
  • What is the custom resolution you configured?
  • Which is the program you use to set the custom resolution?
  • Create a report using the following programs:

Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU)

Intel Graphics Command Center (Intel GCC)

  • Open the Intel Graphics Command Center
    • Locate and save the graphics driver report
    • Navigate to the Support tab
    • Select System Diagnostic
    • Click Generate Report
    • Select Save and name the output file.

Do not know , when the issue was started.

 I changed custom resolution 1600x900 , 1280x720 , 1366x768.

I have used windows settings. Not used any other programs.

Intel SSU report

     Before shutdown :  SSU 1.txt

After resolution change : SSU 2.txt

Intel GCC System Diagnostic report

     Before : Intel® UHD Graphics - Thursday, 02 June 2022.txt

     After :  Intel® UHD Graphics - Thursday, 02 June 2022.txt

Hello ForumResearcher,

Thank you for your response.

I want to confirm which resolution is set when the display settings reset?

I also want to confirm the refresh rate you set on your customed resolution. Keep in mind that the some of the resolutions are supported at a specific refresh rate:

1600 x 900 at 60p Hz refresh rate

1280 x 720 at 50p Hz refresh rate

1280 x 720 at 60p Hz refresh rate

Resolution 1366x768 is not supported.

As per the Intel SSU, I noticed that the Windows version installed on your system is not the latest version available. The newest build available is 19044. Update the operating system to the most current version available.

Hi,

I have updated Windows OS to the latest version. As of now, I have not encountered any issues of resolution change. I will monitor for two more days and confirm my issue is solved.
