Has anyone else had an issue with cutting out after around 10 minutes use after installing BIOS 0039?. Restarts to black screen with post error message. Press Y or N. Restarts and operates without futher issues.
Cold power up again. Same problem. NUC 615SYH
I'm not sure what you are talking about, but I also got a problem to flash the new 0039 via the menu on the top left corner of the screen (after ~3 sec. pressing of the power) so I used the flash function directly at the bios and it works fine (only to be a little bit difficult to find the correct device where the file is )…
Lots of issues with sound and wireless with this unit since new. All usual things tried. Driver updates, bios updates, bios resets etc. Nothing fixed issues. Installed BIOS 0039. All problems fixed.
But now the NUC unit cuts out after 10 minutes use. This has only happened since update to BIOS 0039. In process of returning unit as no amswer to issue from Intel.
Fan is set as "balanced". This issue wasn't there until 0039 BIOS update. Must be some sort of BIOS corruption. After it cuts out and restarts, everything works correctly until next cold power up.
I have now reset the fan to "cool" rather than the default "balanced" setting. So far since doing this the unit hasn't cut out.
MikeP25, it's better to check the link below. N. Scott Pearson advise me some setup for cooler cpu which is better than "cool" setup.
If we think that temperature is the keypoint of your restarts, having a a cpu temp. measurement software is a good idea to understand situation well.

Thank you for response. All remedial actions have been tried including BIOS recovery. This sudden restarting issue has only started since update to BIOS 0039.
A search on the NUC forums under "sudden power loss" and "random restarts" show that many users are having this issue.
A work-a-round, is to do the following, which some have reported has solved the issue.
1/ Disable "fail-safe watchdog" in boot configuration(never seen that option myself)
2/ Disable "fast start up" in Windows 10

I have returned my NUC for replacement and hope this will solve the problems, so I have not been able to try the work-a-round.
