Screen noise after wakeup

On my NUC8i7HVK appears a problem after most cycles of monitor sleep and wakeup.

Just after wakeup screen looks noisy like attached photo and every time I need to detach monitor and attach again or reboot PC to makes it normal (another attached photo).

BIOS update to version 0044 do not fix this problem.

Enable or disable Intel HD Graphics in BIOS settings also do not take effect (now disabled).

I uses latest available for download Radeon graphic drivers 24.20.11016.4.

Problem appears on any connection type HDMI or mDP with any resolution from 1920x1200 to 2560x1600.

Thank you very much for sharing your issue with the Intel Communities Team, RiddlerX2. I will be more than glad to assist you.

In order for me to assist you better, please provide me with a DxDiag* report. Please follow these steps to generate it:

1. In the keyboard, press WinLogo key + R.

2. In the Run box please type dxdiag and hit Enter.

3. Click on Save All Information (save it in your desktop).

4. Attach the .txt file that was generated. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.

Additionally, I would like to confirm: Did you used HDMI* to HDMI* and Mini DP* to Mini DP* cables? If not, please specify.

Furthermore, does the issue occurs if you use a different display? Then, the issue is presented when you manually send the NUC to sleep, when automatically Windows 10* does it or both? Finally, can you please share with us the model of your monitor?

Hi Antony!

I have two connected monitors

one is connected by cable HDMI to HDMI

another connected through adapter Apple MB571Z/A mDP to DualLink-DVI

I use two different monitors and both have same issue

Acer GD245hq and Dell U3011.

And explain more accurate about sleep, it is enough to wait while Windows goes monitors to power save mode after 10 minutes (my current settings) of inactivity.

Thank you very much for your prompt response, RiddlerX2.

Can you please disconnect the monitor attached with the Apple* dongle and use only one monitor with the HDMI* to HDMI* cable? Let the system go to sleep and wake it up.

Please share with me the results.

Looks like if only one monitor is connected through HDMI it works fine.

Tested on both monitors on approx. 20 cycles of wakeup.

But more responsive Dell monitor wake up fast enough to display some kind of glitch (less then 1 second partial coloured noise on black screen) before normal video output.

I will try to record video to show but it is not constant and appears very fast.

Thank you for your response, RiddlerX2.

It seems that the Apple* dongle you are using is causing some kind of issue with the display. If you use only one monitor with the dongle, is the issue presented?

Yes, if I use one monitor with Apple* dongle then issue is present.

RiddlerX2, Thank you very much for providing those details.

In this case the problem seems to be related to the dongle itself, based on the fact that it uses a Dual Link DVI port. Our graphics controller supports Single Link DVI port only, that might be the reason why this problem is happening.

We recommend, if it is possible, to try to get a Single Link DVI-D adapter to try to fix this issue.

Any questions, please let me know.

That may be issue with Apple dongle, but if DualLink DVI not supported this makes unable to use resolution higher then 1920x1200.

But thanks for your time and help.
