So whats the Point with an (Intel) NUC?

Hello everyone,,

Dear Community,

what, in your opinion, is the best use case for an NUC? In my case I places my eye in the following machine: Intel NUC8i7HVK.

I use my Apple TV 4K incl Kodi for my Home theater. It works flawless and consumes for sure less power then a NUC.

My Playstation 4 is perfect for gaming! Iam pretty happy with the performance and the graphics.

The only part where I recognize the NUC as helpfull is in a role as a small and very performant compute package that doesnt waste a lot of space in my room. Even if it not as powerfull as a big tower.

Do I miss something in your eyes?

How would I use an NUC for Home Entertataining? Also install Kodi and then use some kind of remote? Could I power on the machine an differ/choose between the several installed interfaces like Windows/Kodi and so on.

Or are there more interesting option?

What about gaming? I guess steam would be perfect on this machine, but would this look better then PS4?

Iam open for some ideas from you side also regarding some interesting homelab, home entertaining and gaming projects!
