Switch from Legacy boot to UEFI Boot

I have an Intel Nuc8i7beh that is set to legacy boot. How do I switch it to use UEFI?

Fairly easy to do.

First, make sure you have a backup of your data.

Then, open the bios to determine where the setting is to change to uefi boot. Do not change it, yet.

Then, boot your system and use MBR2GPT. Here is a link, for your convenience, on how to do this:

As soon as the conversion is done, reboot to the bios and make the switch from legacy to UEFI boot.

Then, reboot your system.

What if your disk is already using a Guide Partition Table?

Is it a bootable disc, or just a disk you formatted as gpt?

It currently boots up under legacy mode. So yes the disk is bootable.

go to start, and scroll all the down to Windows Administrative Tools and select Computer management. Then, select disk management. Take a photo of the graphic showing the disk in question.

Provide that photo.
