Hello ken1943,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

Based on the link provided, I can tell that the device improves the number of ports in your NUC using a USB-C connection. However, this device is considered an adapter, and Intel always recommends using a straight connection.

We do not recommend using adapters since they may or not work properly in your NUC, please bear in mind the previous statement if you are going to buy the "Docking Station".

If you have any questions about the "Docking Station", do not hesitate to get in contact with the manufacturer for further details.

Regards,

Going to try something like this since docking stations are too expensive . I do have a powered hub connected at present which works fine.

Thanks

If the device says 'Thunderbolt Compatible', it does not connect using Thunderbolt unless this is the only option (and then fails often to connect at all). It will always use USB - which means that the bandwidth of a single USB 3.x port is used to support all of the downstream ports. If you want Thunderbolt, purchase one that says it is actually a Thunderbolt device. IMHO, *never* purchase anything that says it is 'Thunderbolt Compatible'.
