USB-C Display Issue

Hi all. I recently bought an Intel CS325 - Core M3 - STK2m364CC Compute Stick. I'm trying to get it to detect the USB-C connection as a display device when plugged into the monitor. It works with another computer so I know that's not the issue. I tried installing the LG monitor driver with no effect. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if I understand how are you connecting the Compute Stick to the monitor trough USB-C connection? There is no USB-C connection on this Compute Stick. The Video is routed trough HDMI connection. Are you using some kind of HDMI to USB-C adapter?

Hi, It definitely has a USB-C port (the power cord connects through it): https://www.pcmag.com/review/347631/intel-compute-stick-core-m3

O.K. Now I understand what you mean. This connector is intended to connect the 5VDC input from the Power Brick. In addition it carries the signals from the USB ports on the Power Brick to NUC. There is no video output from this port. In order to see video on your monitor, you need connect the Compute Stick with the HDMI connector/adapter to your monitor and the Power Supply to this "USB-C". Please refer to the Technical Product Specification, Fig 2, page 9 and para. 1.7.1.3, page 13 https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/computestick/STK2m3W64CC_STK...

Thanks for your help. That's a bummer if so. On the other stick that I have graphics are outputted through the USB-C port. That one kept crashing though if I booted it up while plugged into the monitor.

  1. The "other" Compute Stick with USB-C video output, probably is not an Intel product.
  2. You just wrote that you  recently bought this Intel CS325 - Core M3 - STK2m364CC Compute Stick. So, it is covered by a warranty. You may try to replace it in the place you bought it or issue an RMA request to Intel https://supporttickets.intel.com/warrantyinfo?lang=en-US . This page will help to identify your Compute Stick https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005941/intel-nuc/intel-compute-sticks.ht...
  3. If you want to describe in more details: what are you seeing when trying to boot?, was it working before or this problem exists from the first activation?, we may try to give you some advise.
