Hallo ,
Our company is using intel nucs.
And our operating system is Ubuntu 16.04 lts based on the linux kernel 4.4 .
We have used until now intel nucs and everything was working good.
Now We have purchased nuc8i3beh devices and ubuntu internet is not working no ping is possible no wired or wifi internet connection is possible. We tried all possible suggestions online but nothing works.
If we upgrade linux kernel to 4.13 everything works and internet is also working wired and wife both.
But the problem is for now we cannot upgrade we must maintain the linux kernel 4.4.
Can you help what to do? How can we solve this problem and make ubuntu 16 .04 lts linux kernel 4.4 work again?
Kind Regards
Lecha Bisultanov

You need to contact the linux community.
Linux is not supported on your nuc:

I wrote in the question that ubuntu 16 and 18 with kernels higher than 4.13 are working fine on my nuc8i3beh device. I don't agree wit your statement.

This is a problem of my intel nuc device. And not the linux community. But thanks for your input anyway.

Hi LBisu,
Most likely Ubuntu 16.04 based on kernel 4.4 doesn't contain the driver for the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 + Bluetooth 5.0 and it needs to be manually loaded.
We provide limited support for Linux, it is not validated and for specific driver issues, we address customers to the Linux community. The NUC8i3BEH has been validated only with Windows 10 (64-bit) see here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005628/mini-pcs.html but we know it works well with Ubuntu*, the problem is that we always recommend the latest distribution and the latest kernel version to avoid problems like that one you describe.
There is a potential driver that may work, see here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html search for Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 and you will find
iwlwifi-9000-pu-b0-jf-b0-34.618819.0.tgz which is for Kernel 4.14+ so you may have some potential dependency issues.
I havent tested this driver by the way as we always try the latest version.
I hope this helps,

Hallo Ronny , first of all thanks you very much for your input. However I have one question is this driver you mentioned also for Ethernet? Because it is actually the Ethernet that I need.
Best wishes.

Hi LBisu,
This is interesting, the Wireless is usually the "problematic" and the component that is often updated and therefore external drivers are needed. For LAN it is usually the other way around but anyway, can you please try this driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/15817 this should work.
Please let me know the results.
