Hi,
I have a bunch of NUC10, some of them are NUC10i7FNH and some are NUC10i7FNK.
They are all updated to 0058 bios version.
They are all equipped with 64Gbyte DRAM and 2Tbyte NVMe disk.
I have in their BIOS (Secondary Power Options) enabled
"Sleep Type Support" to "Legacy S3 Standby" and
"Wake on LAN from S4/S5" to "Power On - Normal Boot".
On some I am Running Windows 11 and on some I am running VMware ESXi 7U3.
Both Windows and ESXi are fully updated -
and in Windows I am running Intel Driver and Support Assistant.
In Windows I have configured the NIC to accept Wake on LAN
However -
After powering down Windows or ESXi, they fail to boot when receiving a Wake on LAN package.
But if I do not power them down in their OS, and just turn off the power at the socket -
and turn it on again -
then I can successfully power them on with a Wake on LAN packet.
It is as if the OS is overriding the WoL state in the Bios by turning the NIC all the way down.
I need this to work - what is wrong in this configuration?

Hello williams-nest,
By any chance, have you tried disabling Fast Startup on Windows? Here are the steps:
- Type Power Options in the Search bar.
- Select Choose what the power buttons do.
- Select Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup in the Shutdown settings section.
- Click Save changes.
Best regards,

Not sure if 'wake from S0x ...' is the right setting if the system is configured to S3 sleep.. S0x is 'modern standby'
Make sure that both options 'wake on magic packet' and 'wake on pattern match' are enabled.

Wake on Magic Packet, Wake on Pattern Match are also enabled.
I just did not want to abuse the space with too many pictures.
I can add - these settings works for Lenovo and HP, just not the Intel NUC's.

s0x works now on NUC11, previously system was configured to Stantby network disconnected. With standby network connected I can wake system from S0x but S4 or S5 still does not work. However, if system is in S4 or S5 and has been briefly disconnected from power source, the system will respond to WOL packets!
