The formula to calculate the answer:

CAS x 2000 / Speed (in MHz)

HyperX Impact 3200 Mhz / CL 20

20 * 2000 / 3200 = 12.5 <---- slower</strong>

HyperX 2400 Mhz / CL 14.

14 * 2000 / 2400 = 11.66 <---- winner </strong>Hope this helpsLeon

Thank you, Leon !

Alas, I've just heard that...

HyperX 2400 / 14 is... NOT COMPATIBLE !

I'm still confused...

I've just read that the speed above 2400 does'nt matter,

or even can cause problems...

So why Intell is shipping HyperX 3200 / 20 to the reviewers ?!

So more Mhz counts or not ?

I'm still looking for the optimal Hades VR memory...

From whom have you read and heard these refutes? Provide sources.

Kingston HX424S14IBK2/32 works perfectly fine in my Hades Canyon NUC8i7HVK, however.

So, what's the problem? Nobody say that it will not work. It was not tested by Intel on this NUC. In the following link you may see that the performance of NUC are not affected comparing to the HyperX Impact 3200 Mhz / CL 20: http://nucblog.net/2018/06/hades-canyon-nuc-review-nuc8i7hvk/2/ Hades Canyon NUC Review (NUC8i7HVK) – Page 2 – The NUC Blog

No problem Leon, just mentioning that it worked in my Hades Canyon NUC, because that is the NUC that the original post addressed.

Working frequency matters, but together with Clock Latency. I've given you the formula how to calculate the speed of memory. So, why are you confused? If you want to sure that memory you buy, will work on your NUC, buy memory from the list of components tested and verified by Intel for your NUC: http://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails/ExportPeripheralInfo?moduleName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC&productType=Kits&productName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC%20Kit%20NUC8i7HVK Intel® Product Compatibility Tool . Intel can not test all memory modules existing on market. Any way, in this list you have enough choice. Fact that the HyperX 2400 is not listed here, doesn't prove yet that it is incompatible. However in test performed for NUC7i5bnh it was found that System may not boot, or may be instable with Kingston HX424S14IBK2/32 memory. My recommendation is not to buy memory which was not tested.

RE: "My recommendation is not to buy memory which was not tested."

Maybe this will (help) convince more of the memory vendors to provide loads of samples to Intel for compatibility testing...

Problem of incompability makes me sad...

Hard to be shure...

So... ok. HyperX 2666 / CL 15 should work...

What about the SSD ?

I'd like to buy Samsung 960 or 970 Pro... 512 GB

But how can I be shure that it works ?

Intel mention only 2TB version of 960,

for a price of Hades itself !

960 OR 970 ( wchich runs more HOT then 960 ! ) ?

Will the LG 27UK850-W be compatible on USB C ?

Problems... problems...

Newbie here. Has anyone tried this RAM: G.Skill F4-3200C18D-32GRS?

Would it be a good choice for this nuc?

DDR4 3000 CL16

This is working in my NUC8i7HVK.

Using the formula quoted above (had no idea about that - so thanks for posting) the memory you posted may be quicker - 10.66 versus 11.25.

However the Cas Latency is quoted as 16-18-18-43. What does this mean - and which latency number should I use in the formula?

16-18-18-43 <- when timings are listed this way its always the first number that is the CL. The other numbers matter but are many times less important than the first.
