Which driver do I need to use for the dual array front mic in the NUC7i7BNH?

I would like to use them for Cortana, but I don't see them as a recording device in WIndows 10.

I downloaded the realtec drivers but this is for the jack, not for the built in mic,,,

any idea?

Cyrano: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® NUC communities. We are sorry to hear the microphone is not working.

In regard to your question, actually the driver for the microphone to work is included on the realtec driver:

Remember that for the microphone to be fully compatible with the NUC it needs to comply with the specifications you will see on the link below, page 29:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Thanks Alberto,

I'm looking to use the built-in dual array microphones that are already part of the 7i7 kit. But I can not find the drivers for them (or see them as a recording device in Windows 10)

As explained in my question , I have already installed the Realtek drivers. But these seems to refer ONLY to the jack audio input.

Cyrano: You are welcome. Just to confirm, the drivers for the built-in microphone are included on the realtec drivers that you already installed. Based on that and since the problem persists, we will do further research on this matter, as soon as I get any updates I will post all the details on this thread.

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks, please let me know what you can find. If I have the correct drivers installed, then why there is no option in Win10 recording device dialog to select these microphone as the default recording device. Considering that this feature is actually mentioned in all Intel marketing material for that generation of NUC it seems strange to me that you actually can't use them.

Quoting from the product brief:

New Features Let You Use Windows® 10 to Its Full Potential The Intel NUC7i7BNH has some cool new features including a dual-array front microphone so you can take advantage of Cortana's* capabilities if you install Windows® 10 with no additional hardware needed.

Hi Cyrano:

I have been playing a bit with this configuration and I wonder if you could try with the Windows drivers instead of the Realtek* drivers.

See below:

  • Press Windows logo Key + X
  • Click on Device manager
  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers
  • Right click on Realtek High Definition Audio
  • Choose Uninstall

Just to make sure that I am on the same page: Microphone works fine but Cortana* is not hearing you, right?
