Why does my Intel NUC iwlwifi module crash on CentOS 7?

Experts,

I am not a Linux admin and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the WiFi on my Intel NUC with CentOS 7 continues to die. I saw the similar post already, however, that user was using Ubuntu and the path you all were going down there did not help me.

As info, I have 5 node Hadoop cluster and they are all configured the same (as far as I can tell), however, the other machines which are on WiFi do not crash. I don't know what is wrong with this particular machine.

Here is the error from /var/log/messages. It is the same message that I see regularly as I've been watching this problem for days.

Hello CCraw4, Even though Intel NUC users have reported Linux versions as compatible, Intel has not validated this operating system on Intel® NUC products. We recommend you use the latest kernel and contact your Linux vendor and use their distribution resources for driver downloads and support. Wanner G. Hi CCraw4,

From your system information, it is clear that your kernel version is 3.10.0 (custom compiled?), and your wireless adapter is Intel AC 8265, so we have to visit the following page https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/support/articles/000005511/network-and-i-o/wireless-netwo... to check how it is compatible with system requirements. In result, the page states that to support your wireless adapter it requires a kernel version 4.6 or higher!

Best regards, Vladimir.S
