Hi,
I have seen many posts on Windows 10 and wasapi issues for audio passthrough but I could not find any solution. So trying to see if the problem can be resolved with the new post.
I currently run the following setup
NUC7i5BNB running 64 bit Windows 10 OS.
Kodi media player
Denon AVC3700H
Samsung UHD TV
As per the KODI setup guidelines. I have setup everything exact the same way. I also see Denon-AVR listed under sound setting set as default device. Under KODI I have set Wasapi as both input device and audio pass through device and selected all the audio formats as the receiver is capable of the same.
But when I run the dolby atmos video demo with lossless audio, the receiver output PCM and stereo.
I have tried all the basic methods to install and re-install. Turning on PC while AVR is on and vice-versa for proper HDMI handshake. AVR decode mode is auto set.
The driver details are presented in image below.
Under properties of audio sound device, 8 channels with all the listed formats can also be seen. Can please someone help on how to get the correct audio pass through.

Hi all, I somehow got the issue solved. or I think you guys can confirm it for me.
I read some posts on HDMI firmware issue for NUC.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...l-nuc.html
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...-kits.html
After this, i started looking for the update for my NUC7i5BNB and made a search on the dowload centre website. Apparently its not a mandatory update and dint show up on my Intel driver and support assistant.
I found the firmware version 1.77.93 as the version for m NUC7i5BNB. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29162/HDMI-Firmware-Update-Tool-for-NUC7i3BN-NUC7i5BN-NUC7i7BN?wapkw=NUC7i5bnb)
I downloaded and update. The update was successful. I did update my firware from an older version. But it dint solve what i was looking for and I still couldnt passthrough Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA. Only directosound (dolby AC3, 5.1 and DTS) worked but never bitstream passthrough.
Instead of looking using model number, searched using HDMI firmware update. And i found version 1.78 and thought to try it out. (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30260/HDMI-Firmware-Update-Tool-for-NUC7i3DN-NUC7i5DN-NUC7i7DN?wapkw=HDMI%20firmware%20update). The update was successful.
And it worked, now i can passthrough all formats including dolby atmos.

Hello vinaysa18,
Thank you for posting on the Intel* Community.
To better assist you, please provide us with the below details:
- Just to confirm, is the connections HDMI from AVR to HDMI on the NUC? No dongles or adapters?
Provide the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)
- Download the Intel SSU https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-
- Open the application and select "Everything" click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
Best regards,
Maria R.

Everyone is waiting for you need to provide the information requested.
Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows. Select all data categories, generate the report and then have the tool Save the report to a file. Don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work. Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.
