hello.
I want to buy intel nuc 11 enthusiast - RNUC11PHKI7C000 and want to use Western Digital Black SN750 WDS100T3X0C as an SSD drive, I saw this product compatibility list:
https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?EPMID=195961
and it's not on the list but the list not updated so my question is: can I use it or I must choose from the list?

Don't read anything into the device not appearing in the compatibility list. The list contains those devices that were on hand for testing purposes; if the vendor didn't supply any, then Intel didn't test them. There is no reason why this SSD should now work - and, in fact, multiple users have indicated success using them.

Hi Scott,
thanks for your reply.
I searched on the internet and didn’t manage to find posts of people that tried this combination for long time of use and didn’t experienced problems, I did found post of some guy who wrote that this combination didn’t succeed for him and he had technical problems but he didn’t continued to wrote what happened after he decided to change the SSD so I don’t know if the SSD caused his problems or something else, I really curious to see what will be Intel's official response, but let me ask you another question instead, if you were needed to choose between those two units (for the intel nuc 11 enthusiast): Western Digital Black SN750 WDS100T3X0C or Samsung 970 EVO NVMe MZ-V7E1T0BW which one you will choose and why?

I would not choose either of this SSD. The WD WDS100T3X0C comes with heatsink and therefore its height is 8.1 mm. So, probably will not fit into this NUC.

The Samsung 970 EVO is a very nice SSD, but for almost the same price you may have Samsung 970 EVO Plus with much better performances.

For every product, you will always find some complaints where an individual received a bad device and had to have it replaced. This happens with all of the vendors; none are immune.

If you believe the hype, the SN750 has better write performance than the 970 EVO. The 970 EVO Plus, on the other hand, has better write performance. In general, at least here in the Intel Communities, I see more people picking the Samsung drives than I do the WD.

Hello Scott and Leon,
thank you both for your help.
one seller also recommended me to choose Samsung 970 EVO Plus (he didn’t had WD SSD's...) so I guess I will go for it eventually even though I prefer WD storage products, if so many people choosing Samsung then it must be a good choice for me too.
by the way Leon the WD SSD have to versions, one with heatsink - WDS100T3XHC as you mentioned (8.10mm height) and the other one without heatsink - WDS100T3X0C (2.38mm height).

Samsung Magician is so cool ... I don't know why anyone would get something else!
