legacy boot

I have an Intel NUC7PJYH and I need to install a 32bit OS in legacy mode. I contacted Intel support and an engineer informed me that a certain version of the BIOS removed support for UEFI and I could downgrade the BIOS to version 27 to get it back. So, I downloaded and downgraded my BIOS to version 27 and I still cannot detect any legacy boot devices. I have even tried to install the OS (Ubuntu 16.04.5 32bit) onto the drive in another machine and swap it in to see if it will at least see GRUB. No dice. It doesn't detect legacy devices at all.

Does anyone have any other ideas how I can get this done?

nivekxyz: I want to start off by stating that Intel removed support for Legacy, not UEFI, so there is no misunderstanding.

For this NUC, UEFI Boot is required to install Windows 10 64-bit. I am trying to get Roon OS onto my NUC7PJYH and it needs legacy boot. Can someone confirm that BIOS V27 actually still has the legacy boot option?

I tried to downgrade to Bios 27, but I got an error message that the bios could not be downgraded. How do I go back to 27?

Thank you for the information.Bear in mind that if the BIOS 0042 or grader is installed on the Intel® NUC completing downgrade would not be possible according to the release notes on the Bios version 0042. yes I have indeed run into that issue. So I will have to keep using dietpi, but that's ok.
