nuc8i7hvk - Bios v0059 not saving Native ACPI OS PCIe Support setting

I'm running a couple of NUC8i7hvk's with BIOS Update [HNKBLi70.86A] Version: 0059 (Latest) Date: 11/12/2019.

I'm trying to enable "Native ACPI OS PCIe Support" but it won't stay checked after save/reboot.

I've opened a support ticket for this but was wondering if anyone else is seeing this on their NUC?

In my NUC8i7HVK (bios version 060, previously removed from the Download Center), I can't enable "Native ACPI OS PCIe Support" either.

I've tried a power button BIOS recovery and reloaded BIOS version 0059 followed by restore bios defaults on both of the two NUCs I have.  I verified the MD5 on the bios download to make sure it wasn't corrupted during the download.

I have two nuc8i7hvk, both are showing the same behavior.

• Have you tried a BIOS recovery on the unit?

Yes.

• Did the behavior occur after installing the BIOS version 0059?

I didn't try on a previous BIOS version.  I recently purchased these and updated them to the latest BIOS while I was configuring them before I loaded the OS.

I've also opened a support ticket with Intel Case #: removing personal information.  They were the ones that had me try to power button bios reload.

While searching the internet for help on this issue I did see another NUC bios (for NUC Kits NUC8i7BE, NUC8i5BE, and NUC8i3BE BIOS Update BECFL357.86A) which contains a fix for a similar issue. Release notes for version 0075 of that bios states: Fixed issue where changes to “Native ACPI OS PCIe Support” setting in BIOS doesn't stay.

I don't know if those NUCs are using the same code-base for their BIOS as the nuc8i7HVK uses, but if they do Intel should already have a fix identified for this issue.

As you mentioned, we do have an internal case that is currently under investigation by higher levels, please kindly refer to that case for more updates on this behavior. 

In this case, we will proceed to close this thread to avoid duplication of effort and the support will continue through the internal case.
