Hello everyone,
I’m a new member of this forum. Nice to meet you.
I’m Italian and I hope to understand your thinking.
I’m a recent owner of a NUC i7 12th.
If you agree, I tell us my issue.
I setup-ed the Italian keyboard, then I create the admin password with some special characters.
After some restarts the Italian keyboard get lost and appeared, by default, the English (US) one.
So I can’t input my password because these characters “à” (alt+133) and “ò” (alt+149) don’t appear in the layout of the English keyboard.
Moreover, the command “alt+number” don’t work.
Now I try to reset the password to a simple one, without Italian special characters.
During the start I press ESC key and appear the UEFI, not graphic but text-mode version (see the attached image).
I don’t know the correct command, but I tried:
“password”
“password giorgioS600”
“password s600-gc”
Unfortunately, the answer is always “two arguments expected”.
I ask if anyone could help me, for the pw reset or other ways.
With gratitude.
Giorgio

Hi Giorgio,
There are different models of 12th generation NUC. For example: NUC12SN, NUC12DCMi7, NUC12WSHi7. Please describe what is your NUC model?
Which password you want reset: Linux Administrator, Windows Administrator, BIOS User/Supervisor?

Hi,
the processor is the I7 1280p, but the model is only Mini PC S600.
I want to reset the Linux Administrator password.
There isn't a BIOS, but a EUFI.

@giorgio_c You do not have an Intel NUC. You need to contact the manufacturer of your S600 and ask the for support regarding their bios.
Doc (not an Intel employee or contractor)
[Maybe Windows 12 will be better]

Well, this is a Intel NUC forum and not Linux forum. I suggest you to address your question in Linux forum. BTW UEFI is also BIOS.
May be this article may give you some way to recovery.
