unable to install any linux distribution on NUC5CPYH

Hello,

I recently purchased one NUC5CPYH and I tried to install several times Linux distributions with different options without success. I am an experienced Linux user and I begin thinking that there is a hardware problem with the device.

My current hardware setup is:

- Intel NUC5CPYH with latest BIOS Version PYBSWCEL.86A.0064.2017.0815.1055

- RAM Kingston KCP3L16SS8/4 4GB (1600 MHz SODIMM, DDR3L, 1.35 V, CL11, 204 pins): bought new for this device

- SSD Patriot Torqx 2 32GB SSD: previouly used for another PC but working without error

Tests I performed:

1. I tested RAM for 10 hours with memtest56+, no error appeared.

2. Attempts to install Linux in Legacy mode with BIOS setting of OpenELEC defined in https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022600/mini-pcs.html BIOS Changes Required Before Operating System Installation ()

Please, could you tell me how I could proceed to install Linux in the device or if I should return the device??

Thanks in advance,

Christian

chrpinedo: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® NUC communities. We will do our best to assist you with this scenario.

In regard to your inquiry, Intel does not test and validate Intel® NUC on Linux; however we know that a lot of NUC owners are using it successfully on many different Linux distros.

Intel suggests for you to check your Linux distro's website and forums for peer assistance with this issue at:

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,
