would professional GPUs fit on NUC12DCMi9? (e.g. Quadro, Radeon Pro with rear-end power connector)

I am about to buy a NUC12DCMi9 but before placing the order I wanted to ask if I can install Professional GPUS. for instance, I would like to use Radeon Pro W5700 or W6800. Either one has dimensions of 267mm. would there be enough clearance to connect the 8+6 pin power connector that in this card face the rear of the card (and not the top as in consumer GPUS)? what is the total length of the from end to end in the chassis?

besides power clearance, any restrictions from using Professional GPUS on NUC 12 extreme?

thanks in advance,

daniel

Many thanks. I have news, it did fit. Photos attached.

my question/issue is that if you have two 300mm long GPUS, the chassis clearance requirement are different if one GPU has power connectors in the back, versus if they have power connectors on top (as most consumer GPUs). Luckily, the Nuc 12 extreme is long enough to accomodate power connectors in the back.

my other ongoing issue, I cannot find a 64gb ram kit that makes this computer boot. I have tried 3 kits, and so far teh usual three flashes and no post. I need to keep trying with different brands.

Hello Danrdz10103,

Please find the Add-in Card limitations:

You can find this information on the Technical Product Specification page (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/intel-nuc/NUC12DCM_NUC12EDB_TechProdSpec.pdf).

Be aware that we recommend using the ones listed on the Intel® Product Compatibility Tool (https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?EPMID=216963)

Let me know if you have any further concerns.

thanks. my Nuc 12 extreme is arriving today and I will give it a try.

quick technical question, what is the length from end to end of the case? that is, when the specs say max lenght 300mm, does that mean 301m will touch the front of the case or there is clearance after 300mm?

Thank you for your response.

The maximum length is 300 mm, meaning that a card larger than that, would not fit in the case. Please find attached the NUC dimensions.

Let me know if you have any further concerns.

What concerns me is the power requirements and what the power supply can provide.   All of the cards listed in the compatibility list require more than what is recommended in the tech spec.

Just saying.

Thank you for your response.

We are glad to know the graphics card fit well in the NUC.

Feel free to check the list of compatible memory module for Intel® NUC12DCMi9 (https://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC&prdName=NUC12DCMi9%C2%A0) and let me know if you have any concerns.
