Intel Optane Memory H10 HBRPEKNX0202AL

Hi,

Recently I changed the case of my PC and after that my Optane stopped to work. I was able to set up system on other SSD but not this one. My pc don't recognise it as accessible disk, but when i connect it I can get onto system optane partition and also in device manager I can see both partitions of this SSD - Optane and Nand. Does it mean that some part got damaged or am i doing something wrong?

Best wishes!

Hello, Deimaginator.

This message is to inform you about the thread closure.

I previously shared that it is possible that the BIOS configuration got messed up during the computer case migration and it is necessary to reconfigure it again.

Contacting Gigabyte for further assistance on BIOS settings or going back to the place of purchase are two other options, specially since the system was purchased preconfigured:

gigabyte also has an ptane configuration guide for VMD platforms on the Gigabyte site, and mentioned it may work as a reference, even if it is not the same board (Z690):

Hello, Deimaginator.

Thank you for posting on the Intel Community Support Forum.

I received your case regarding the Optane not being recognized, and I will be assisting you with this.

Please let me know the following:

1. Did the Optane Memory H10 come preinstalled with the system? or did you purchase it separately?

2. When you said that you changed the case, did you change anything else? or are you aware of any type of BIOS changes that may have happened?

3. What is the model of your system/motherboard?

I will follow up on October 6th in case additional time is required.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you for quick reply.

1. H10 came preinstalled with the system.

2. I literally just put everything from one case to another case and the only difference between them is number of preinstalled fans. I didn't touch bios at all. Everything was working fine before switching case but after it PC was booting straight to the BIOS and no it was not BIOS settings being reset. I already checked it and there was no bootable drive in the boot manager.

3. System is Windows 11 Home and motherboard is Gigabyte B660m DS3H DDR4.

I will just add that when I put optane alone it boots to BIOS and when trying to reinstall system after 50% of preparing error occurs saying that something went wrong, but it might be caused by the fact there is already system preinstalled there.

Best Wishes,

Hello, Deimaginator.

Thank you for the details.

In this case it is not possible for us to determine if something happened to the SSD metadata or the OS boot manager.

It is strange that you encounter an error during the OS reinstallation, but knowing that you have access to and can boot from a different SSD, maybe you can try to perform a low level format or secure erase on both portions of the Optane, just to check if this gets rid of the errors, and then reinstall Windows.

Here you have some options, kill disk is the one I consider the easiest, or you may attempt a "clean all" using Diskpart:

I hope to hear form you soon, and I will follow up on October 7th just in case.

Hello, Deimaginator.

I wanted to follow up on this thread to check if our assistance is still required.

I previously shared some option to possibly perform a secure erase on the unit and perform a clean OS installation, but there was no response after trying to follow up.
