What happened to Toolbox v.3.5.4?

Up until Sep 14th the latest version for Intel Solid State Toolbox was 3.5.4.

After that date there seems to have been a rollback of some sorts because the latest version shows now 3.5.2 from way back in March.

Also some current SSD FW versions found https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000017245/memory-and-storage.html here have also reverted to earlier version numbers.

Can somebody please shed some light on this?

Hi gryzaskl,

Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities.

A wrong firmware package was used when the Intel® SSD Toolbox with Intel® SSD 545s, Pro 5450s, E5100s Series 3C/3P/2E firmware updates were generated, an earlier version of the firmware packages were used instead of the final production release. A new version of the tool, targeting Intel® SSD Toolbox 3.5.6, with production release firmwares, will be made available in the coming weeks.

Regards,

Diego V.

Thank you for your prompt response.

I have already updated the firmware on my 545s SSD with the 3C version contained in Toolbox 3.5.4.

Until the new Toolbox release will be available do you recommend FW rollback to the 2C version?

Hi gryzaskl,

If the drive is working fine, you can keep using this firmware version during the next weeks.

We will have an updated version in the coming weeks. Please update to the latest firmware version to ensure you are using the production firmware release.

Yes, the drive is working perfectly just as before the FW upgrade.

Thank you for your support.
