Blank window / GUI elements not visible for QSYS and system-console

When starting qsys or system-console, the window stays blank. When clicking somewhere, sometimes a popup is visible, so the GUI elements are there, but not visible.

 

qsys-edit --debug does not give any output.

 

I am using arch linux, swaywm and quartus 21.1. Any ideas how this could be fixed?

I don't know if Quartus is supported in your Linux setup, but I'd try an uninstall, re-download, and re-install.

hi tomaThomas,

 

try to launch system console via below method:

 

1. Starting System Console from Qsys

Click Platform Designer > Tools > System Console.

 

2. Starting System Console from Nios II Command Shell

On the terminal Type the following command:

system-console

 

Note: Make sure you have setup the environment variable for nios2eds

eg : C:\intelFPGA\19.1\nios2eds

 

Let me know if this works

 

 

and if it's not working then share your machine properties details and Quartus version (stranded or pro).
