Hi all,
I have been running an example " Triple-rate SDI II Reference Design for Stratix V, Arria V & Cyclone V devices", using Cyclone V GT Development kit. , Link reference on alterawiki. But when I compiled file c5gtsdi_ii_top. qpf, it doesn't generate .sof file ( no error , no warning ) so I can’t run the example on kit. I am using window 7 64bit , Quartus version 13.0 , license 30 days . Please tell me how to solve propblem .Link Copied

Upgrade your version of Quartus. Although V13.0 supports Cyclone V there are likely to be 'advanced' devices - devices without full support in that version of Quartus, only in subsequent versions. There should be an info message during compilation suggesting the device characteristics are only 'preliminary', or similar.

Thanks for your replies Alex ,
I also tried to use Quartus version 15.1 , license 30 days , but the results still can not create file sof . Do you think the problem is due license ?- Mark as New

Having unlicensed IP in your design can cause Quartus to not generate any programming files. Do have any IP cores, like Ethernet, in your design? If that's what's going on you should be able to get a demo license for the core. In that case the .sof file will be generated but will be time-limited (will only run for a fixed period of time, usually a few hours).

The Triple-rate SDI II Reference Design only generates a time-limited sof when I run it through Quartus (14.1). So, something in there - likely the SDI II IP (given how little else there is) - needs a license.
