How to convert .mif to .hex for ModelSim-Altera?

Hi all,

I tried save as by Quartus. The resulting .hex seems pretty large. Although I don't really know how Intel .hex file format. Opening the .hex file shows correct contents in Quartus.

But ModelSim "mem load" command gives error:

# (vsim-3632) Illegal character ':' for radix 'hexadecimal' on line 1 of file "../../src_data/SingleCable.hex".

.mif head

Quartus save as .hex file head in hex editor

In Quartus, I would just open up the .mif, create a new .hex with the appropriate word size and length, and do a copy and paste.
