Hi,
I am working in Quartus Prime Pro 18.1 version. I was trying to copy the PCIe DMA transfer example design from the Terasic CD (terasic CD/Demonstrations/PCIe_DDR4 )
I created a folder in my local disc and copied the project from CD to my local disc. Then I opened the project DE5A_NET.qpf and then I get a warning as seen in attachment1.PNG. Then I opted "yes" option (see attachment1.PNG). The files included (by default) in the Quartus projects are seen in attachment2.PNG. Then I opened Platform Designer system (opened ep_g3x8_avmm256_integrated.qsys). But the system view gives blank page (attacment5.PNG). I am curious what is going wrong here now. And I remember I could open the same project in Platform Designer before and it worked fine. Thank you.

Attachment 4 says the file is corrupted. Also, it's possible the design should be opened in Quartus Standard instead of Pro. Arria 10 is the only family that works in both so maybe the project was originally created in Standard and the system got corrupted during the conversion process. Try opening it in Standard first.

Thank you. I was particularly confused because I could open the project in Quartus Prime Pro before (may be a month before) and when I try it today, these problem popped up. Just curious, your suggestion is to open the project in standard first and then do in Quartus prime pro?

If you've already opened the project in Pro, you cannot open it in Standard anymore unless you backed it up because of the automatic conversion that happens when opening a Standard project in Pro.

Hello,
I'm not exactly sure what happened when you re-visited the project. However, I can see the that the example design is originally created in Quartus II 15.1. Please be mindful of the steps needed to be taken when migrating to Pro.
Here is an online training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_6gemOLtjE
And documentation available: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683475/19-4/migrating-to.html

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I am still having issues when working in my windows 10 and Quartus Prime Pro 18.1. But when I open the same project in Ubuntu using a latest version of Quartus Prime Pro, it works fine. Still trying to understand what is going on wrong when work in the Quartus Prime Pro 18.1.
