--- Quote Start --- there is already a solution available I think: look in altera / support / kdb / solutions/ rd03062012_414 . html --- Quote End --- Thanks - the solution involves a patch for 11.1sp2 for Win7 64-bit. http://www.altera.com/support/kdb/solutions/rd03062012_414.html Cheers, Dave

I'm having the same problem with Quartus II 32-bit Version 11.1 Build 259 01/25/2012 SJ Webn Edition (SP2 installed), on Win7. Fresh install of everything. Took SOOOOOO long to download, I really don't want to try again with older software. Please try to fix this or find a direct workaround. Thanks.
EDIT: OOPS, didn't see multiple pages for this post, so I didn't get to the end where there's a patch solution. Trying it now... EDIT: DARN. This won't fix my problem. The fix is for 64-bit version only. Not that I chose it explicitly, but I have 32-bit version running. This problem DOES exist with 32-bit version. So now what do I do????????????- Mark as New

FIXED. Here's how I fixed my problem with 32-bit 11.1sp2 Web Edition, WITHOUT uninstalling it or downloading a complete prior version.
This did NOT go automagically. Note the red text below, that was key. 1) Download and install 10.0sp1 programmer only from ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/release/10.0sp1_programmer_windows.exe 2) From device manager, right click USB blaster, select Update Driver Software 3) Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" 4) Choose "Let me pick..." (auto search won't get old driver) 5) Choose "Have Disk" (auto search won't get old driver) 6) Navigate to 10.0sp1 folder, then qprogrammer/drivers/usb-blaster 7) Select usbblstr.inf that I find there, not looking deeper into x32 or x64 folders I doubt this part is necessary, but I tried the 10.0sp1 programmer and it found the USB Blaster. Then I went to the 11.1sp2 Quartus, and it also found the USB Blaster. I probably could have gone straight to the 11.1sp2 Quartus.- Mark as New

I had the same problem with my usb blaster under q11.1sp2.
OS: Windows 7 / 64, Service Pack 1. Quratus II : 11.1sp2_259_quartus_free_windows I solved the problem in the following way. - i unistalled the usb blaster driver (device manager), - than i copied the driver folder of a q11.0 WE installation from my laptop in the driver folder of my q11.1sp2 on my pc, - (i think it is also possible to copy the folder to a different destination) - after this i reinstalled the usb blaster driver manually (see Dr.Lightnings last post), - than i started q11.2 and the usb blaster is selectable in the programmer setup window.
