Quartus Prime Lite 16.0: Unable to generate encrypted .pof (MAX10)

Hi everybody,

I need to generate an encrypted .pof file for Altera MAX 10 device. I have followed this document from Altera:

https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/max-10/ug_m10_config.p...

I tried to follow the steps in section "Genarating .ekp File and Encrypt configuration file" (pag. 48) but in Quartus 16.0 Lite the "SOF Files Properties: Bitstream Encryption dialog box" (step 11) is not present. In my Quartus when I click on Properties of the SOF file I see only this:

The question is: Why and how I can resolve the problem ?

Thank you.

You're using the Lite version of the tool. I don't think it includes the encryption feature.

Hello,

I am using the Standard Edition, though 15.1.2 version and getting the same thing. I.E only option for 'compression' is shown and there's no option for 'Bitstream Encryption' available.

My current configuration setting is

- Internal Configuration

- Single Uncompressed Image with Memory Initialization (256Kbits UFM)

Do I need to upgrade to a newer version? Or am I missing some settings?

Thank you,

You need to contact Altera to get the license file. The license file for Bitstream Encryption is free.

Hello Thanks for replying,

You mean Altera Support? Their response is awfully slow...

Also, what did you mean by 'license file'.. sorry I did not understand it..

Hmm...

The one mentioned in AN556, to be obtained from Altera Technical Support?

Any additional info would be useful and appreciated.

Thanks,

Go to Altera -> Sign In ->mySupport -> Create Service Request and explain the problem. The support team will generate for you a license file needed to activate the encryption. And yes...very very slow.

Even after two hours, Altera Technical Support won't let me file this request... Seems like they require Technical Support themselves... :-)https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=14221
