Quartus license count (build server)

Hi!

The question is mainly how many Quartus floating license seats would be required for the following use case.

We'd lice to have an engineer working with Quartus Prime on a laptop. If the design is complete, we'd like to upload the project to a faster computer (a build server), to build it faster there.

Does this require the license for both the engineer's laptop and the server? Can the engineer continue work on the laptop, or would the license have to be released for the server during the build process?

Many thanks!

Hi

Welcome to Intel forum. May we know, is the floating license.dat file located in the (a build server) and you wanted to build project using this server + laptop?

Hello!

Yes, the license file would be located in the build server.
The idea was, that the project would be designed on the laptop, pushed to the server, most probably using git or SCP and built on the server. Mostly the builds would happen on the server, as it would be faster there, but maybe sometimes on the laptop as well.

Thanks!
