Triple speed Ethernet and Nios V soft processor IP unlicensed

Hi,

We purchased two DK-DEV-AGF014EA development boards and are trying to compile the GHRD for the board. When generating the sof file, the assembler gives the following warnings:

Warning (115003): Can't generate programming files for your current project because you do not have a valid license for the following IP core or cores.

    Warning (115005): Unlicensed IP: "Triple-Speed Ethernet (6AF7 00BD)"

We installed the license for the Quartus Prime Pro edition and tried with both version 22.4 and 23.1, the results are the same.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

You must obtain a license for the Intel FPGA IP to generate programming files that you may use for an unlimited time. To obtain a license file, visit the Self-Service Licensing Center or contact your local Intel FPGA representative.

You may also have a look for for information on the IP Licenses: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683102/23-1/installing-and-licensing-cores.html

Contact your local sales or distributor for more details.

I understand for Nios V I probably need a separate license. What I don't understand is why I need a separate license for the triple speed Ethernet IP. I have a license for the Quartus Prime Pro edition for 1 year.

the link you provided doesn't have anything related to the IP license issue mentioned above.

My question is I have the Quartus Prime Pro license installed correctly, why it still asks for license for basic IP like the triple speed ethernet?

thanks

Hi,

Kindly take note the Quartus software license and IP license are different and you are required to purchase additional license to use the Triple Speed Ethernet IP.

You may also try the Evaluation mode for 30 days trial period for the Triple Speed Ethernet IP. Here are some guidance on how to use the evaluation IP: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/intellectual-property/megacore-ip.html

Thank you.

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for the info, I removed the triple speed ip from the reference design and the license issue is gone. It is a workaround but I believe we don't need the triple speed ethernet IP. The issue is solved

thanks.
