Either Questa doesn't like the dash ("-") in your path or it's the fact you're missing "licenses" in your LM_LICENSE_FILE variable.

Strangely, you have /licenses in the path in Quartus but the file is placed one level higher in /FPGA.  Do you have an old file lingering around?

Dear sir:

Thanks for your reply at first. I have not any other licanse files. Since this is the first time to install the Quatus and try to learn something about it. Is it possible to mail new right license files to me?

Please help me.

I don’t think you need a new file. Like I said, it’s probably an issue with your path to it.

Like I said, try fixing your path:

LM_LICENSE_FILE=/home/liang-tong/intelTool/FPGA/licenses/LR-184601_License.dat

Dear Sir:

I try to do as your idea. But it doesn't work. The message prompted is still same as before.

I have 2 files about the license. Both of them are dilivered by the intel via email. Please check the capture pictures below about them.

Please tell me how to save them and config the enviorment.

Thanks

Hi

Welcome to Intel forum. It appears that the version of Questa included in 24.2 is no longer compatible with the old FlexLM daemon. To resolve this issue, upgrade to the Siemens FlexLM (SALTD) daemon v11.19.5.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software-kit/709649/flexlm-license-daemons-for-intel-fpga-software.html

In Siemens License version v11.19.5.0, there's a change that requires action if you're running a floating license server. You need to manually update the VENDOR daemon line in your license file from mgcld to saltd. For example: VENDOR saltd <path to saltd>.

The KDB is online here

“…. I run quasta on the Ubunto “

Hi Sir

Ubuntu is not an officially support OS for Questa starter edition. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-software/os-support.html?wapkw=operating%20system%20support

An unsupported platform means that some things may work, but others not, and we won't put any resources into debugging or diagnosing. We recommended to use the right OS for Questa.
