Hi,
in my design, I have 2 integer multiplications. After synthesis I saw that the timing requirements are not met. And I saw that NO DSP Elements were used despite of the 2 multiplications and several additions.
For testing I turned the dsp_block_balancing option in the settings menu from "Auto" to "DSP blocks". Then, the design used the DSP Blocks, it was 100LUTs smaller and the timing was more than met.
How should I configure this option?
I think Quartus should use DSP Blocks automatically when available, why isn't it this way?
Is there any way to define, that only this special entitiy should use DSP blocks? Or could this setting only be done global for the whole project? (If this block is part of a bigger design)
