Hi all,

I am doing a design with Qxp file.

but I found that hierachy of the component structure

cannot be hidden in project navigator window. I donot

want to show hierachy details on the project navigator

window. Any way to do it?

Thanks.

Regards,

Why? It's trying to give you information about your design(and if someone has your project, they have all that information anyway.) You can go to View -> Utility Windows and disable the Project Navigator.

hi,

Thanks. is there any setting that does not

keep hierachy in qxp file generation? for Qxp file,

suppose like a black box, I donot want to show the

details hierachy in the design when pass to others.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

I'm really confused. The .qxp shouldn't show hierarchy. If you make assignments to nodes in the hierarchy it will, but that's because it has to(the only way to point to a lower level file is through hierarchy). That being said, the hierarchy is in your design, not the .qsf. Maybe if you can explain what someone else is doing with your project without the RTL, or something like that, it would help. Right now my assumption is that you want to give someone a project(which has hierarchy in the HDL, independent of the project), but don't want them to know the hierarchy?

Hi,

Yes, the generated Qxp does not show any hierachy information.

I generated a qxp which is sub-module for the top design, i will

pass it to others. But I found when I port qxp in the top design,

after compliation, the hierachy information shows well for sub-module

in qxp file. Is there any setting can remove the hierachy information

when generate the qxp file?

Thanks.

My apologies. I mis-read your original post and thought you were asking someting else. I now get what you mean and it makes sense. That being said, I do not think there is anyway to hide the hierarchy in the .qxp, as it's purpose is not meant to be a method for IP delivery(or at least, that was not it's main goal). It is possible to encrypt cores so that users can't see the actual LUT/register behavior, but that requires contacting Altera and partnering as an IP provider. But even with that, I believe the hierarchy will still show up.

Hi Li

if you want to pass on you .qxp file to someone else, you can encrypt it using a program called AMPcrypt. you need to contact Altera directly to get it.

Best regards
