So you're trying to target Agilex and it wants to use Cyclone 10 GX?  Can you successfully set up a new project like this with the New Project Wizard instead of a command?

Not at all, I don't even know from where Quartus takes the Cyclone 10 GX...

As anybody can see, there is no mention of Cyclone in the command, only agilex.

What's wrong with my command?

Yes, no problem from the wizard.
You can easily reproduce it by opening quartus and running my single line command.

Is this new first time issue encounter?

What Quartus version is this? Might be a bug CLI for the build. (ill reproduce this)

Is wizard feasible for current workaround?

I just started to use the Intel toolset for the Agilex I-series devkit, therefore this is the first time I encounter it.

I use the latest Quartus Pro version 22.1.

It's fine for now but we definitely need to be able to create project for Agilex from tcl.

I wonder how much QP22.1 was tested, it fails at the first command to create a project...

I recommended you to use wizard as a temporary workaround and truly apologize for the inconvenience experience.

I filed a bug report to developer regarding the cli.

Let me know if there is any other concern.

Alternatively you can use global assignment to set the device family in tcl script

set_global_assignment -name family AGILEX
