Ubuntu/RHEL/CentOS Servers for Intel SGX

Hi,

From the linux-sgx github README page, these are the only distributions supported:
- Ubuntu* Desktop-16.04-LTS 64bits
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.3 64bits
- CentOS 7.3.1611 64bits

May I know if there's a plan to support Ubuntu Server-16.04-LTS?

For production deployment, is RHEL and CentOS our only distro option for Linux Servers with Intel SGX?

Thanks!

Kind Regards,
Elephant

Those three are the only ones we do validation for our releases. Since Ubuntu server and desktop do not differ much (same kernel), our linux open source release most likely should also work on Ubuntu server.  If you prefer Ubuntu server as your production, please try it out and report any issues encountered on Github, or better yet submit a PR for review.

Hi Haitao,

Thank you for your response.

Is there a plan for Intel to validate the Ubuntu 16.04 Server version?

Is there a set of validation procedures for Intel SGX SDK/driver that we can use to validate it in the platform that we choose?

Thanks a lot!

Kind Regards,
Elephant

We currently don't have plan to validate on Ubuntu server, nor we have plan to release the validation code.

I suggest you do your own application level validation.on Ubuntu server, and report/fix an issue caused by bug at SDK/PSW level. We will include the test cases for such issues in next validation cycle.
