we ran SoCWatch from System Studio 2016 on Intel i7 6600U@2.6G . while playing 1080P for 10~15 minutes, the BSOD happened, failure call stack is in SoCwatch.sys. the command is for trace is : SocWatch -f sys -m -t 900
The test system include Lenovo Yoga 900 and Microsoft SurfaceBook with same CPU, both of them got the same failure. Change to I5 CPU, issue disappeared.
thanks for your information.
We would like to suggest you to try our newly released SoCWatch which is included in Intel System Studio 2017 beta.
You can get the beta from this link : Registration Link
If the new version still has the problem, we need to investigate which feature causes the crash specifically.
Would you please use each feature separately following the commands listed below ?
“socwatch –f cpu –m –t 10”
“socwatch –f gfx –m –t 10”
“socwatch –f ddr-bw –m –t 10”
“socwatch –f temp –m –t 10”
“socwatch –f cpu-gpu-concurrency –m –t 10”
“socwatch –f cpu-hdc –m –t 10”
One more possibility is that if the screen went off during the collection duration, collection of gfx data could cause blue screen.
SoCwatch of 2017 is not avaiable in current release yet. I capture a dump and windbg output is as following:
