Hi.
I used VTUNE AMPLIFIER 2017 FOR SYSTEMS to profiled my android (XPERIA Z, 5.1.1)
BUT It can't show my code on Hotspots [Outside any known module], only system modules.
and I tried VTUNE AMPLIFIER 2016. It can show my code.
it showed [target - /system/bin/sh: syntax error: '(' unexpected] in Collection Log.
so what happen between VTUNE 2016 and 2017?
thanks

Hi
Can you send us snapshot of what you see in VTune 2016 vs 2017 and the collection logs? Also, can you try running as root and see if that helps
Thanks,Lavanya

Hi,
Could you please tell me if anything was changed (Source code changes/build option changes and so on w.r.t your application) among the binaries/apk used between 2016 and 2017 version of VTune? Or is everything the same and as soon as you use different version of VTune, you see this issue?
Could you please try to follow the procedure mentioned in this article :- https://software.intel.com/en-us/android_system_setup_from_lin
You can follow the "Enabling Java Analysis for Code Generated with ART* Compiler' section as you mentioned that your Android version is 5.1.1
