Hello Sky G,

 I am a Technical Consulting Engineer from Intel System Studio team. Intel System Studio includes Intel System Debugger and STT is one of the features of Intel System Debugger.

 I read your error log and I assume that the OSs you failed on are 32bit systems.

 Intel System Debugger currently supports only 64bit Windows OSs. Please see the below information from Intel System Debugger Release note.

<Host Software Requirements>
1. Microsoft* Windows* 7, 8 64bit.
2. 64bit Java runtime environment (JRE) 1.7 or newer to use the Eclipse* framework. In a web browser, access www.java.com , and download and install JRE 1.7 or higher. Ensure that the Java runtime environment is 64 bit. (Go to http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and select “Windows Offline (64-bit)”).
64-bit host system:
3. Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe)
4. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 runtime (pre-installed by default on Microsoft* Windows* 7)
5. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package version 9.0.30729 (vcredist9_x86_x64.exe)
6. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package version 10.0.30319 (vcredist10_x86_x64.exe)
7. Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package version 11.0.61030 (vcredist_x64.exe)
Microsoft* Visual Studio* redistributables will be installed automatically if they are not found on the system.

Quick question : Is your STT standalone version or from Intel System Studio? If your STT is standalone, where did you download it?

I am moving this post to Intel System Studio's forum.

Thank you

Dear Jon J K

Thanks for your detailed explanation.

I double check the PC I used, the Windows OS is win7 professional 64bits, not 32bit OS.

I also check your "host software requirements" written in the mail, I doubt that we are talking about the same tool or not?

The install guide I got seems different with your description.The prerequisites written in the install guide are as follows:

=============================

 2 Prerequisites
This section describes about the prerequisites to install STT. STT can be installed on a Local Computer or a
Terminal Server.
STT Installation on Terminal Server enables multiple users to be logged in at the same time.
Administration privileges are required to install STT. STT installation does not support installation by different
types of users. It treats each user in a same way.
Make sure that Java Software (32 bit) is installed properly. STT looks into the registry for the Java entry in
the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Java Development Kit\CurrentVersion
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion

2.1 Software Requirements
These are the software requirements:
 To initiate installation, the correct version of the System Trace Tool software must be available.
 STT requires a Microsoft© Windows operating system of type Microsoft© Windows 7.
 STT supports Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.7, 32 bit.
Note: In case of problems, try uninstalling other Java versions before installing Java 7.
2.2 Hardware Requirements
These are the hardware requirements:
 A minimum disk space of 100 MB is required.
 To use the STT, COM ports must be available to the computer that has STT installed. However, if
STT is connected to the System Trace Box (STB), then LAN is required and COM ports are not
required.
2.3 Delivered Files
STT is shipped with these files:
 CHART_DEV_KIT.zip
 STT_DECODER_DEV_KIT.zip
 InstallationGuide.pdf
 STT_Release_[year]_[calendar week].pdf
 setup.exe

=============================

I guess the STT I used is standalone version.we are the partner of the Intel, and got the tool from intel .

Hope to get your kindly response, thank you very much!

regards.
