Cannot access ~/.ssh/

I'm trying to add to the ~/.ssh/config file, but anything I try returns permission denied. I seem to be unable to access ~/.ssh at all. I've been using jupyterlab to operate and I attempted to use expert mode but when following the instructions I received a permission denied statement.

I found this post:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Developer-Cloud/Got-Permission-denied-publickey-Error-in-IDC-Training-and/m-p/1570835#M433

which discusses the permission denied the statement, and according to the first reply, ssh is disabled for jupyterlab on the developer cloud. To move forward with my current task I unfortunately need access to ~/.ssh/config/ is there anyway I can add to that file at all or is everything related to ssh disabled?

Thank you for your help

Hi indx,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Yes, the issue you are facing now is due to the SSH access for JupyterLab being disabled. Unfortunately, there is no alternative way to add the file. Instead, we recommend you to access the environment by clicking the launch button in the Training and Workshops section. Once the server is launched, you can open a terminal from the launcher tab.

Regards,

Dayang

Thanks Dayang,

Is this also the case for Intel Devcloud or would I be able to access the ~/.ssh/config file using that system? I tried briefly and seemed to run into the same issue.

Thank you for your help

Hi indx,

Please clarify with us if you're trying to access the ~/.ssh/config file using BM or VM. Can you share with us the command that you run to modify the config file? Additionally, kindly share with us the link to the website that you used to perform the action.
