Hello team!
I am trying to sync AOSP Source in idcbetabatch Intel developer cloud training jupyterlab and I am facing the error, that Connection terminated by peer. Also whenever I try to download any file from any site, I get the error "Unable to establish SSL Connection". Previously I was not facing the error. But from 07.03.2024 6:00 PM IST. I am sure that this might be from Intel's side as I have nothing to do with it. You guys could also access the instance in order to fix the issue.
Could you guys help me fixing this error ? Please fix the issue as soon as possible because idcbetabatch has been the backbone of my projects and as a result of this error, many projects are pending. Intel developer cloud really helps me a lot in my personal project.
Awaiting response,
Help would be highly appreciated

Hi HisKidxD,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Regarding the "connection termination by peer" issue, could you provide us a screenshot of the error message that you are facing for further investigation? At the same time, please provide us your JupyterHub user ID. For example, uXXXXXXXX.
On the other hand, for the SSL connection error when downloading, I was also unable to download files in JupyterLab and faced the same error as well:
We will inform the relevant team about this issue. As a workaround, we would recommend you to download the files to your desktop and then upload them to JupyterLab using the "Upload Files" button on the top left side of JupyterLab. Do let us know if this works for you.
Regards,
Luwe

Sure !
Here is the error what I am getting when I am trying to initialize the AOSP repo :-
And this is the error I am getting while trying to download any file :-
This is adversely affecting me as I am unable to carry on working on my personal projects.
Also, this is the error faced in the shared pool (idcbetabatch) which can be accessed in the training section of console.cloud.intel.com . My user ID in this shared pool (idcbetabatch) is as follows:- uacf0cf83383812a6ab782a69faea2c9
I have checked everything and got to know that no error is being faced due to anything caused by me. I think it is occuring due to the changes made by the Intel team.
Awaiting response,
Help would be highly appreciated

Hi HisKidxD,
According to our engineering team, these errors are expected to be encountered due to security concerns. Currently, JupyterLab trainings do not allow users to download files from random external websites as these systems are made for training purposes only. May I know what are you using this system for?

Sure! I would definitely like to let you know the purpose for which I am using the JupyterLab. Actually I am an AOSP developer and with the help of JupyterLab, I am compiling AOSP(Android Open Source Project). This is the main motive to use JupyterLab. If the team wants, then the team can check my instance without any hesitation, if the team wants further clarification. So basically when shall I expect this error to be fixed ? As I have no wrong intention to use the JupyterLab or to abuse it. Also, till yet I have never abused the JupyterLab so as to maintain a cooperative and a suitable environment not only for me but also for others who are using this. I hope that my action hasn't compromised the security of the JupyterLab. Also I don't work around with random websites. I only use official AOSP source website :- https://android.googlesource.com and also some other known websites like:- https://sourceforge.net and I too use GitHub to push, pull my projects. I am sure that these websites do not contain any malicious files which can adversely affect the JupyterLab system. So basically I am not abusing the system, neither I am downloading any malicious files through unknown websites but still I am facing this situation. I hope that I haven't done anything wrong which is against the team's policy(s). If I have done any, then please mind to let me know about it.

It appears that when attempting to download files from the Intel Developer Cloud environment and sync the AOSP Source, you're having trouble with the SSL connection. Numerous things, such as incorrectly installed SSL certificates, network problems, or server-side issues, could be the cause of this issue.
Steps to Troubleshoot and Fix SSL Connection Issues
Check System Date and Time: - Verify the time and date on the system. SSL/TLS handshake errors might be caused by an incorrect date and time.
Update CA Certificates:- To make sure your machine has the most recent trusted certificates, update the CA certificates on it.
Check Network Configuration:- Verify that no firewall rules or network configurations are preventing SSL connections. You might attempt to reset the network configuration.
Review Proxy Settings:- Make sure the proxy settings are set correctly if you are using one. To view and modify the proxy settings
Check Logs for More Details:- For more thorough error messages, review the logs. This can assist in locating the main reason behind the SSL connection problems.
Verify Intel Developer Cloud Configuration:- Verify that the Intel Developer Cloud environment is set up appropriately and that no recent modifications have occurred that would impact SSL connections.
Specific Commands for Intel Developer Cloud
1. Restart JupyterLab
2. Sync AOSP Source
3. Check SSL Libraries
Contact Intel Support
If the issue persists after performing these steps, it might be necessary to contact Intel Developer Cloud support directly, as the problem could be on their end
