How can I restart the server?

Hello,

I'm using the devcloud to test some OpenMP code, and I think my server got stuck.
(I'm launching the JupyterLab from https://console.cloud.intel.com/training)

The server closed itself during a run with multiple threads and after starting it again my code doesn't run properly.

It seems like the code runs fine until the return from main, but the program is stalled and doesn't finish executing.

I wish to restart the server because I couldn't find any other solution for this problem.

How can I achieve that?

Thank you,

Guy

Hi Guyy,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For your information, the error that you are currently facing is caused by the global settings in JupyterLab that are implemented due to security concerns. To restart the server, you may click File and select 'Hub Control Panel'. Then, click 'Stop My Server' and 'Start My Server'.

Hi,
Thank you for your response.
I tried doing what you explained but it doesn't help because it looks like the state of the machine is kept the same as before (no actual reset happening)
I still experience the same problem.

I use the system for experimenting with OpenMP (both CPU and GPU)
My problem is that the same code that worked okay until now doesn't work anymore - the code is stuck and never finish executing.
The code works perfectly fine on a similar machine I started with a different account.
Thus, all I'm looking for is a way to start the machine like a new one because I know it should fix my issue.

Hi Guyy,

Thank you for the information provided. Regarding your problem, could you provide us your JupyterHub user ID for further investigation? For example, uXXXXXXXX. At the same time, kindly log out of the JupyterLab by clicking File and selecting 'Log Out', login to JupyterLab again, and then try to relaunch the machine to see if it works.

We would also recommend you to restart the kernel by clicking Kernel and selecting 'Restart Kernel', and execute the codes again. Do let us know if these methods work for you.

Luwe

I tried logging out and relaunch the machine with no success.

Restarting the kernel is not relevant because I'm running directly from the command line (no jupyter notebook)

my JupyterHub user ID is u87ec7d5f07e9cff6342867a22f07aef

The clean installation of your account's Jupyter Notebook is completed. Could you please sign out of your account, clear the browser's cache and login back into your account? Do let us know if you have received a clean installation on your account.
