Hi lan1,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For your information, you can request for cloud credits via credits.cloud.intel.com. You need a strong justification for the cloud credits request to be approved. Also, kindly request through your company email, as using a personal email to apply for the cloud credits will not be entertained.

Once your cloud credit request is submitted, please expect approximately 2-3 business days for our Intel® Tiber Developer Cloud team to review. You will receive an email notification regarding the approval status of your request. In addition, you may refer to this page for more information on Intel® Tiber Developer Cloud Console.

Regards,

Ezza

Hi Ezza,

Thanks for your response!

Would you please explain following questions for me?

I just wondering what's the meaning of "bare-metal" vs. "virtual-machine" access? Does "bare-mental" means I have to install the OS manually? Which one is more likely to the Jupyter Notebook or SSH Connection in DevCloud? What's the "Intel COE's" means in Research coupon type?

Waiting for your comments!

Regards,

Lan

Hi lan1,

Apologize for the delay. Please find my response to your question below. I hope this gives you some insight into Intel® Tiber Developer Cloud.

1.What's the meaning of "bare-metal" vs. "virtual-machine" access?

Both Bare Metal (BMs) and Virtual Machines (VMs) offer different type of machines. You may refer to Instance Type for a better understanding of the description and use of BMs and VMs.

2.Does "bare-mental" means I have to install the OS manually?

All VMs and BMs come preinstalled with an OS, so there's no need for manual installation. However, some machines offer options to choose your preferred OS machine image. Please refer to this Update OS and Add Package steps for more details.

3.Which one is more likely to the Jupyter Notebook or SSH Connection in DevCloud?

Both VMs and BMs can be accessed via SSH connection and Quick Connect. Currently, Quick Connect is only available in selected regions. Selecting Quick Connect is performed once. You cannot add or remove this functionality after you launch an instance. You can refer to this Launch an Instance for guidance.

4.What's the "Intel COE's" means in Research coupon type?

Intel COEs are the partners who have a strategic collaboration agreement with Intel for research purpose.

Ezza
