Hi aza,

Unfortunately, installing system-level packages that require 'sudo' access on Intel® Developer Cloud batch instances is not possible because 'sudo' commands are not permitted for security reasons.

However, you can request a Bare Metal instance through the Intel® Developer Cloud Console, which provides 'sudo' access.

Regards,

Faiz

Hi aza,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Some of the packages you listed are system-level packages that typically require 'sudo' access for installation. Please note that in Intel® Developer Cloud batch instances (JupyterLab), 'sudo' access is not permitted for installing new software.

Regards,

Faiz

Hi aza,

Please note that currently, there are no free instances available in the Intel® Developer Cloud Console except for the Jupyter Lab Training section. All other instances require payment via credit card or cloud credits.

To get started, please register for an Intel® Developer Cloud account here, and choose the Premium service tier. After you have successfully registered as a Premium account user, please follow these steps to add a credit card as a payment option.

  1. Click on the profile icon.
  2. Click Payment Methods.
  3. Click Add Card.
  4. Fill in all of the required payment information, then click Add Card.

Alternatively, you can request for cloud credits via credits.cloud.intel.com. Kindly be informed that you need to have a strong justification in order to get the cloud credits request approved. Another tip is, please use the company/university email when requesting/registering. The decision to approve or reject this cloud credits request is out of our control, and this is done purely by management.

For more information on Intel® Developer Cloud Console, you can refer to this link. If you have any further questions or need assistance with anything else, please feel free to let us know.

Regards,

Faiz
