Unite Enterprise 'The server does not respond' while trying to login admin user for the first time

Hello,

I've problem logging into admin portal of Unite Enterprise solution. After entering login: mailto:admin@server.com admin@server.com and password Admin@1 I get an error 'The server does not respond'. I saw few questions having similar error but in those cases reinstallation solved the issue. I've tried reinstalling Unite server multiple times but with no effect. I was installing wersion 3.3 and 3.2.2 multiple times over and over again.

I can reach the portal, I can verifiy application on the server works correctly by invoking 'getprofile' on http://unite.local.tebsa.pl/unite/CCService.asmx/GetProfile http://unite.local.tebsa.pl/unite/CCService.asmx/GetProfile and returning profile xml. I'm also getting pin on a hub's display, but I cannot login any client using this pin.

How can I check what's wrong, debug the problem? Which server does not respond?

Installation is on Windows Server 2008 R2 and MSSQL Express 2008.

Regards

Piotr

Hello PiotrCe,

Thank you for joining the Intel Community Support.

First, please follow these steps to confirm the symptoms:

-Open IIS Manager

-Browse to Start Page -> {servername} -> Sites -> Default Web Site -> Admin Api

-In center pane, open Handler Mappings

-Handler Mappings error details will point to "WebApi\web.config"

Then, these steps should help you resolve this issue.

-In IIS Manager

-Browse to Start Page -> {servername} -> Sites -> Default Web Site

-In center pane, open Configuration Editor

-In Section drop-down, select "system.webServer/handlers". Click on "Unlock Section" in right pane.

-In Section drop-down, select "system.webServer/modules". Click on "Unlock Section" in right pane.

Hello,

thank you for swift reply! Unfortunately opening Handler Mappings of Default Web Site -> Admin Api didn't lead to an error (screen). I've also checked other application folders and they're also ok.

In configuration editor both sections seem to be unlocked as there's only option to lock them(screens).

Regards

Piotr

Hello PiotrCe,

In order to continue gathering some information about this issue, please make sure that the Windows firewall is disabled. Then, try to login into Intel Unite® Enterprise one more time.

Hello Wanner,

I've tried to login portal after turning Windows firewall off and still no luck

I'll try to join session with a client but I can do that only tommorow morning.

Should I check for some open ports or running processes ? Maybe some other application conflicts with tcp/udp port assignment?

Regards

Piotr

Hello Wanner_Intel,

according to firewall guide we managed to setup firewall for hub correctly and now clients are able to connect to the hub to present their screens.

Unfortunately it's still impossible to login to admin portal

Hi Piotr.

I used to have the same problem as you, but I have solved it already.

The reason the you can see http://unite.local.tebsa.pl/unite/CCService.asmx/GetProfile http://unite.local.tebsa.pl/unite/CCService.asmx/GetProfile , it confirm that your IIS and ASP.net is working.

When you enter a password, it display a error, possible reason is database problem. You need to make sure SQL server is running and populated with Intel Unite Table.

You can login SQL server using SSMS to verify.

These are the SQL server settings I use

Default Instance

Instance ID: MSSQLSERVER

Authentication Mode: Mixed Mode

Add Current User

Alsio make sure below roles and features are installed.

Server Roles: Web Server

Include Management Tools

Add .NET Framework 3.5 features

Add .NET Framework 4 features

ASP .NET

WCF Services

HTTP Activation

Web Server Roles:

Web Server, Common HTTP features and Default Document.

Best Regards.

Michael

Hello,

I just wanted to inform everybody interested that I didn't make Unite portal to work in my production environment so I decided to run it on Windows 2012 Server VPS and SQL Express 2014.

Now everything works as expected and setup took me just 2 hours.

Unfotunately still no idea what was wrong in my WS 2008 & SQLExpress 2008.

Best regards

Piotr

Hi, the Unite Server requirements are as follows:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or greater

SQL Express is not supported.

As for the Windows Server 2008, please verify you have the following patch installed:

Windows Server 2008

Run the follow command from an elevated command prompt:

1%windir%\http://microsoft.net/ Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

If you're on a 32-bit machine, you may have to use the following: 1%windir%\http://microsoft.net/ Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

Reload the site.

Thank you for your response.

I was wondering if you were able to review the information about the Intel Unite® Server and the patch in Windows* Server 2008.

We would like to know if you remember having this configuration.
