DBS2600CW2 with RMS25PB080 HW Raid Controller: RAID Controller name not in Boot Manager List

Hi All,

We are Integrating a Server with DBS2600CW2 board and RMS25PB080 RAID Controller. I defined RAID Virtual Array and Groups Initialized and set as boot able.

But could not see the RAID Controller name in Boot Manager List, only Optical Drives, Intel Network controller & USB Pen drive is shown. The Mass storage section of BIOS shows Intel RAID Controller name but not selectable. The current BIOS ver. is 008.

What could be the reason for not listing the Controller name under Boot manager?

Thanks

Hi,

Update the firmware for both the server system and the RAID Controller and remember to set boot drive 0 in the RAID BIOS.

UEFI boot? Is controller seen in Legacy boot mode?

Thanks JFFulcrum

No, Not in Legacy Mode and not in UEFI, While trying to add EFI Boot option, only Intel Network Controller IP 4/6 options along is shown. Updating BIOS to 009 and controller FW to 23.33. Will come back after further testing.

Thanks Dan_Intel

We did that too. But problem persisted.

The work around was to Factory reset the adaptor.

From Adaptor Properties "Set Factory Defaults" Enable or Yes and Accept. On reboot Boot Manager Showed SCSI Controller and on reloading Server OS Windows Boot Manager too listed and system loaded OS. Problem solved.

Thanks
