Hello, tobias-mierzwa.
Renting a cloud server does sound like a practical solution for exploring TDX technology without the high upfront costs associated with large server setups. Cloud services often provide flexibility and scalability, making them ideal for studying advanced technologies like TDX. We appreciate your interest and feedback. We have a forum category for the specific concerns related to SGX. This category is monitored by our experts who can provide you with the best solution/suggestions. At this point let me try to seek help from our technical team coordinator.

Hi, tobias-mierzwa.
Thank you for posting in our Community.
Intel TDX (Trusted Domain Extensions) is indeed an interesting technology. It's the Intel's newest confidential computing technology. This hardware-based trusted execution environment (TEE) facilitates the deployment of trust domains (TD), which are hardware-isolated virtual machines (VM) designed to protect sensitive data and applications from unauthorized access.
A CPU-measured Intel® TDX module enables Intel® TDX. This software module runs in a new CPU Secure Arbitration Mode (SEAM) as a peer virtual machine manager (VMM), and supports TD entry and exit using the existing virtualization infrastructure. The module is hosted in a reserved memory space identified by the SEAM Range Register (SEAMRR).
Furthermore, just to share with you, we have our support link where you can find the features of the Intel TDX. To make it easier for you, here’s our support link: Intel® Trust Domain Extensions (Intel® TDX)
Best regards,
Von M.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was more looking for help with cheap hardware setups to study the technology.
The SGX technology could easily be explored with a small NUC, but for TDX it seems that only large server setups are available at prices above 2~3k. It seems that the best solution is probably to rent a cloud server with the hardware.
