Hi All,
we want to upgrade our Server with S5000VSA-Board for Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials.
At the Moment we run Server 2003 R2, 2x Xeon 5140, and 4GB RAM.
In the different Shops they offer a lot of RAM-kits up to 32GB total.
A look in to the board-specifications says maximum RAM is limited to 16GB.
Which processor/RAM/BIOS combination offers the max. possible performance with this board?
Or better, which combination makes sence for our plans?
Thanks for your advices in advance
Roman

You may run into issues finding drivers for 2012 - 2008 was the last supported OS for that board. See http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5000vsa/sb/CS-022698.htm Intel® Server Board S5000VSA — Tested operating systems
