I've read documentation for TBB and I'm finding the library as very useful. I have a question - is it planned to port TBB to other platforms (AIX, SOLARIS, HPUX) ?
The simple answer: yes. One of the main reasons to open the source was to facilitate exactly such ports. Some work has already started. Other efforts should be available as our community continues to grow and developers with the time and resources can produce and sharesuch versions. We hope that such people would announce their intentions, questions and progress on this forum.
I can speak for the Solaris platform- we are working with folks from Intel to port TBB to the Solaris platform using Sun Studio software. I expect this to be available here later in the year.
