Hi All,

I would like to run my Intel desktop board DQ35JO chipset Q35 in AHCI

mode I have downloaded Intel Matrix Storage manager and placed the

necessary files on a floppy disk. During Xp installation I select F6

and insert the floppy.

I get the following list of drivers

ESB2 SATA AHCI controller

ICH7R/DH SATA AHCI controller

ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI controller

ICH8R/DH/DO SATA AHCI controller

ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI controller

ICH9R/DO/DH SATA AHCI controller

ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI controller

ICH10D/DO SATA AHCI controller

ICH10R SATA AHCI controller

Does anyone know which drivers I should install. I've tried a couple but get Blue screen

Any suggestions would be gratefully received

thanks

Hi there,

First thing i will do is to flash my bios to the latest version using the recovery mode.

Then i will set my bios settings Advanced >> Drive >> Configure SATA as AHCI & ATA/IDE Mode to Enhanced.

Then i will download the F6 driver from the website below: (note if you are using 32 bit OS,use the 32 bit driver otherwise use 64 bit)

Website: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/15251/eng/STOR_all32_f6flpy32_8.7.0.1007_PV.zip&DwnldId=15251&ProductID=2783&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/15251/eng/STOR_all32_f6flpy32_8.7.0.1007_PV.zip&DwnldId=15251&ProductID=2783&lang=eng

Copy all the extracted file to an internal floppy disk if you are using Windows XP.

Press F6 for XP to load the driver

Scroll down and look for the driver below

Your driver will be: iaAHCI_ICH8RDHDO = iaAHCI_ICH9RDODH = "Intel(R) ICH9R/DO/DH SATA AHCI Controller"

If there is no internal floppy drive, then try to use a software called Nlite to slipstream the driver with the OS, this way you are creating a new OS already embedded with the driver. Burn it on a CD.

Other than this i dont have any other information. Try to see if it works fine wen Configure SATA as IDE as a test. And try with another OS CD or simply try with Vista to see if it works as Vista already have the driver.

Aryan
